Deccan Chronicle, the Hyderabad based newspaper, has come up with its new Chennai Edition. It's hard to rise-up in the Chennai newspaper market mainly because we have India's THE-best newspaper "The Hindu". The Hindu and a cup of hot coffee is an age-old morning sight in most of chennai homes. Nothing can seperate that combination. No Indian Express, No Deccan Chronicle..... Here the sun rises with "The Hindu".
Moreover Chennai crowd is intelligent and sensible enough not to be attracted by that funky Page-3 stuff.. Taking all these factors into consideration, Deccan Chronicle has priced itself at 1 Rupee.
But, You can get the whole year subscription for Rs 99/- if you have an ICICI Bank card. I saw that ad today. Call 52082400 to subscribe for Rs 99/- for 1 year.
Believe me, you will get more than 200 bucks if you sell one year's paper to the old-paper-wala. (its a 36 page paper)
So Deccan Chronicle and ICICI Bank together give you more than 100 Rupees an year if you read and watch nonsense-masala stuff, bikini laden models, erroneous English, false stories, and some soft porn...Good Compensation yaar.... Iam going to subscribe...
I would'nt mind subscribing "Deccan Chronicle" even if it's a brazilian newspaper; considering the Rate Of Return... Even finance companies wont pay such a huge interest:-)
[P.S. Today I got "Deccan Chronicle" free with "The Hindu". It was given free with Hindu in KK Nagar, Ashok Nagar, T-Nagar, Nungambakkam, and many other areas]
